Exlpore the Leading Creek Watershed! Tucked away in a corner of southeastern Ohio, the Leading Creek Watershed is full of hidden wonders. Home to the Meigs SWCD Conservation Area, Skatopia, Wisteria, farms, a water trail, and a number of mom-and-pop businesses, the 150 sq mile area is a diversley woven landscape of rolling hills and rich history.

The Meigs SWCD works with state agencies as well
as volunteers to monitor the Leading Creek Watershed,
which is affected by acid mine drainage
and other
impairments caused by land use practices.

Leading Creek Watershed Group

Become a member of the Watershed Group, even if you live outside the watershed! Members receive personal invitations to participate in activities such as watershed tours, group contests, litter clean up days, and water sampling demonstrations.

    Interested in donating? 

Donations are used to directly benefit the efforts of the Leading Creek Watershed Group. Those who donate $25 or more receive one of our T-shirts. Remember, contributions are tax deductible. Please make checks payable to Leading Creek c/o Meigs SWCD.   

Leading Creek Citizen's Committee
Your Power! 

A new committee is being formed in the Leading Creek Watershed. Named the Leading Creek Citizen's Committee, the purpose of the committee is to ensure stewardship of the Leading Creek Watershed and build citizen interaction with the watershed and each other.

As the committee continues to develop, visit often for updates!
